  • Netherlands: 4,858,827 overnight stays (11%)
  • Austria: 3,820,452 overnight stays (9%)
  • Switzerland and Liechtenstein: 1,929,622 overnight stays (4%)
  • Belgium: 1,618,242 overnight stays (4%)

Economic significance of Tirolean tourism

Tirolean tourism provides employment to around 48,800 people (on a full-time basis). 

4.8 billion euros in added value 

Tourism generated around 4.8 billion euros in added value in the 2021/22. This means a rise in added value compared to the previous year 2020/21 (1.9 billion € due to lockdowns in winter) as well as compared to the last tourism year before the crisis 2019/20 (4.5 billion €).
